That wasn't bad at all. Pulborough seemed to be experiencing some technical problems, though....
That would be an ecumenical matter.

Very enjoyable. Nice layouts, good to see the traders and get a few things and so many people to chat with . . .!! It is a shame the catering is so poor.

I second David's assessment. A very enjoyable event.

I thought the layouts were generally of a better standard than for several years, and I thought several of them were excellent.

Good trade attendance and good 'craic'. (I spent rather too much time gossiping, as usual!)

It seemed acceptable yesterday. Did the café run out of supplies?

Yes I am afraid it did although we got most of these sorted out eventually. However apologies if it spoilt anyone's enjoyment. Like most of those who operate the layout, it is suffering from age. This year marks 40 years since we first started construction and it took us 11 years to get it near to completion although two railway cottages near to the station only go installed in 2021! The layout has been in store for the last t wo years and was got out for checking 10 days ago. Unfortunately time and space to do that job was limited which accounted for some of the problems we had at the start of yesterday.

We were privilaged to be awarded the trophy for the most entertainling layout as voted for by the visitors which was much appreciated by the operating team. The layout's next appearance will be in the village of Pulborough on September 9th/10th following an invitation to make a return visit for the Heritage Weekend event.

I wonder if Eastwood came second?

I only voted for the P4 layouts

Voting was

1. Pulborough
2. Kerrinhead (3 votes less than Pulborough)
3. Eastwood (6 votes less than Pulborough)

So a clean sweep for P4!!

Member Richard Syms keeps a careful check on competition results for EM Gauge Society shows and it would appear that the results given were not quite correct. No third place was announced, and it would not have been Eastwood had it been.

Thank you Richard for keeping this correct, and an appropriate correction will also appear in the next issue of Scalefour News.
