Weston Area Group (Weston-super-Mare)
The group was formed by members of a local club, Weston Railway Modellers, who were responsible for the EM gauge layout "Grove Park".
The four members currently meet as part of that club on Friday nights in a church hall in Weston-super-Mare although this could be changed if other Scalefour Society members want to join the group but would prefer a different time or venue.
The parent club has a project in hand as a replacement for "Grove Park", but there is no plan to have an Area Group project; instead members have their own layouts such as "Chiseldon", "Nottingham Goods" and an EM model of Weston on the WC&P, which requires help in operating.
Members also demonstrate techniques such as building construction and Broad Gauge modelling. A layout for the D&E Challenge by Andrew Ullyott: "Wheal Elizabeth" appeared at Scaleforum 2008.
As well as operating and demonstrating, the group visits shows such as Railwells and Scaleforum and the Society AGM. Trips have been made to see full size railways and joint meetings have been held from time to time with the local EM gauge group.
