The Alan Gibson product range and business has now been sold to new owners Colin Seymour and Chris Wilde
(more detail about us here).
15/11/07

The business officially changed hands on 25/10/07. Colin then spent the week commencing 29/10/07 with Alan learning the basic skills required to produce the range of 4mm wheels and castings. We were all very pleased with the way things went over that week and Colin managed to acquire all the necessary skills to produce wheels. He then returned to base for a week to prepare for the big move and returned to Alan’s for a further week starting on 12/11/07. The business will then relocate to the Oldham area over the weekend 17-18/11/07.

Our postal address is now: Alan Gibson (Workshop), PO Box 597, Oldham Lancashire, OL1 9FQ

and phone number,  0161 678 1607 and our fax is 0161 785 8208, email: sales@alangibsonworkshop.co.uk

Our main aim is 'Business as usual'. We wish to run the business in the same manner as it has been in previous years, with the same aims and philosophy. There will obviously be some disruption but we are aiming to keep this to the absolute minimum.

As far as the product range is concerned all wheels that are currently available in 4mm and 7mm will continue to be so, as will all castings detailing parts, wire, etc. etc.
Kits, this is perhaps the most frequently asked question at the moment. Before we bought the business the stock of complete kits was run down to zero and not restocked. There are various kit components in stock that with a little additional manufacture will yield a few kits. Details of these will follow in due course; this is the plan for the short term. Once we are familiar and confident with the running of the core areas of the business we will begin kit production in earnest. However, we will not restock the entire range. Instead we intend to produce kits in batches when we have established there is sufficient demand. This is likely to be in a batch of 15 to 20, anyone with a particular interest in a kit is welcome to register that with us and go on the list. When we have sufficient orders to commit to manufacture we will more than likely seek a deposit. We must emphasize that it is very unlikely that any kits will be manufactured within the next 4 to 6 months. We are unlikely to produce signal kits but all the parts will be available as components.

Alan Gibson Workshop sells by mail order and at exhibitions.
